OR: I've been busy today! =)

I headed out to the Gorge today to check up on old boxes and
look for new ones.

Fairy Falls Letterbox: Great stamp! Hate the hill you have to go
up, though! =)

Lemur Letterbox: Another great stamp! Not even much of a hike
up a hill--which is a lot to say for a Gorge hike! =)

I'm also happy to report that the demise of the Latourell Fall box
(part of the African Safari Series) was greatly exaggerated, and
it's still alive and well waiting for more people to find it.

And I checked up on both of the replacement boxes I made for
Der Mad Stamper's Columbia River Scenic Hwy Falls series,
and both are alive and well. One of them even has a visitor if
you're quick enough to be the first to get it!

And speaking of that series, it's been requested of me to create
a webpage on my website for these replacement boxes because
the old clues won't lead you to them. It was in a post of mine
many moons ago, but at long last the new clues are on a page of
their own at
http://www.geocities.com/rscarpen/Lb/US/OR/ColumbiaRiverFall
s

If you've wanted the complete set of Columbia River Scenic Hwy
Falls series, get hopping! =)

And that about wraps up my adventures for today....

Goodnight!

Man! What kind of coffee do you drink? Slow down. Guess What? That
stinky marsh crab, the one that you refuse to believe its existence,
happens to be well hidden in the licorice plants(checked on it
today). So if you are still energetic, then go fill up a thermos with
that coffee you drink and head back down to S.F. Bay Area. You can
also look for The Cradle.

Have Fun Hunting

Doh! We went looking for the Ponytail Falls box today with your
talklist clues which are slightly less descriptive. From reading the
new clue page we were in the right general location but didn't find
it. :( Hope it wasn't the one with the hitchhiker since we have
still not found one.

It was still a good day since we got Horsetail Falls, the Octopus,
and Triple Falls. Ginger was happy - she finally went out with the
family instead of being left on her tie out - she isn't nearly so
spoiled ever since Grace was born. Grace as always enjoyed "hiking"
on my back.

The Triple Falls box location is so obvious - I thought that had I
not even been looking for a box I would have looked there anyway. As
it turns out the log book is full of folks that did just that. Most
entries are without stamps and notes that the finder stumbled onto
the box. The log book is almost full - we've never seen so many
entires. Some folks drew pictures in lieu of stamps. Some stamped in
with the box's stamp - using the residual ink. Only a few actual
letterboxers had found it! LOL!

Well, if you decide to head out for the Lemur box (if you haven't
gotten it yet), you can make a loop that also nabs the Ponytail
Falls box at the same time. Sorry you missed it, though, but with
the more descriptive clues, hopefully you'll have more luck!

Yeah, the Triple Falls logbook is a joy to read. Definitely one of
my favorite ones to read--and a great example of why being the
first person to find the box isn't what it's cracked up to be. The
people who enjoy the box the most are the ones who come to it
LAST! =)

Anyhow.....
